Owen Toms
Head CrossFit Coach
Owen is our Head Fitness Coach and the founder of Southern Quarter. His extensive knowledge of functional fitness makes him our go-to expert for fitness advice.
Owen is a former diplomatic protection officer and military veteran having served in the Parachute Regiment. After spending years travelling the world, training remotely and gaining his experience with various fitness methodologies, Owen likes to focus heavily on functional training, especially CrossFit, picking up his L2, Kids CrossFit and Adaptive & inclusive trainer quals on the way.
Owen has a real passion for helping people to achieve their goals and take on new challenges through physical and mental fitness.
Izzy
Lead Fitness Coach / Gym Manager / Team Smiler
Izzy’s dedication to fitness has propelled her from strength to strength. After years of honing her skills, she became a qualified coach and pursued her dream of moving to the Middle East. For the past two years, she has worked as a personal trainer and served as the Head Coach for OX Fitness Lab based in Qatar. Not to be satisfied with just this, Izzy picked-up ‘Fittest in Qatar’ 2 years running and most recently she made it to the CrossFit Games semi-finals in the Team division, so you could say she’s pretty fit!
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of SCIENCE degree in sports science (Exeter)
- Level 3 Personal Trainer
- Level 3 Sports Massage Therapy
- Level 1 CF (Soon to be Level 2)
- Fittest in Qatar 2019 and 2020
- CrossFit Games Semi-finalist (Team) 2021

Inder
Academy Head Professor
Prof. Inder first discovered BJJ in 2002 whilst working in South-East Asia, and on return to London began training under Roger Gracie.
Following his eventual promotion to Blackbelt, he founded and ran a large Martial arts and fitness centre in London where he met the owners of Southern Quarter. He now brings his experience to head up the SQCA.
His passion is teaching and instilling the fundamental techniques and principles of BJJ in an environment that gives the ‘gentle art’ the platform it deserves.
Medalling at European level (IBJJF Championships) in the Master’s divisions and Nationally in the Adult Divisions.
